The Graduate

I had planned to write this blog entry a week ago, but I really had to let it set in that Yoga Teacher Training was over. After spending two weekends a month, for the past five months, with my fellow yogis I felt a little lost not being with them this past weekend.

My emotions and feelings about this experience are bigger than I could ever put into words, but the smiles on all our faces speaks volumes. We came together from all around the Milwaukee area, some of us farther than others, to share in an experience and a growth that is now uniquely ours because we experienced it together. How beautiful! I remember being nervous, excited and unsure of what to expect on day 1. My nerves were quickly eased as we gathered that first day and got to know one another. A big shout out to the Universe for the serendipitous timing of this day, a friendship was born!

This experience grew my knowledge of yoga, allowed me to learn so much about myself and gave me the opportunity to cross paths with nearly 30 other people I might have never met otherwise. My reasons for choosing to get my 200 hour certification shifted over the course of the five months. What started out as a desire to deepen my practice and have the “certification” I found myself wanting to learn more about some of the topics we covered, hello chakras, I found the bliss of Yoga Nidra, I developed a stronger meditation practice and so much more.

For me this is just the beginning, there is so much more to learn, so many places to go and grow in my journey of yoga. I’m so grateful for the space in time that I had with this beautiful group and a big thank you to Suzy of Empower Yoga in Milwaukee for providing a wonderful base in which to spark interest, learn and evolve past our limiting beliefs.
