Holiday Fog and New Year Intention

Happy New Year! It seems like too long since I’ve shared any updates here, but at the same time I honestly haven’t had much creative energy. I never want to share for the sake of sharing. I like sharing when something is on my heart, when I’m excited about something new or when I know there’s something you might love as much as I do. I had to convince myself it was okay to take a break and if you’re like me, that can be hard when you’re used to going and doing constantly. This is something I really struggled with over the holidays. Having some time off of work was wonderful, but what wasn’t wonderful was the anxiousness and/or guilt I felt when I wasn’t maximizing all the time. What is this world we are living in where we feel like we have to be on and going 24/7?

I’m someone with a lot of ideas and not always the time or organization to bring them to life. I love sharing and serving others and dreaming up ways to keep providing value and creating community. I work a 9-5 demanding corporate job and under the umbrella that is Barreista Be Well I teach yoga, barre and group fitness in studios, on the road and in my very own online studio, Barreista Be Well Community Studio. Plus, I share all things wellness that matter to me, clean beauty products, essential oils, healthy nutrition and lifestyle habits.

I also try to find some time for myself, my family and my friends. But honestly, finding time for it all is a challenge. So usually something has to give. (so if I’ve forgotten to return a text or cancelled plans, please know that sometimes I’m just at max capacity and can’t do it all) This is also how I somehow never managed to get a family picture over the holidays. Thank goodness we recently had some taken professionally!

Okay, well now we are a full week into the New Year and what a first week it has been. Things that have been saving me this week, my weighted blanket (best Christmas gift!), my essential oils (Release and Stress Away have been two faves this week) and moving my body, this is something that ALWAYS helps.

I’m also continuing to work on some of the decluttering and organization I started over the holidays. I’ve been more open than usual to purging and releasing items and things that I typically hold on to, so I’m taking advantage of this energy. I find when my space is cleaner and clutter free so is my mind and that feels amazing!

So my biggest intention for this new year is to keep doing things that make me feel good in my physical body and mind as well as my physical space. I’m certainly spending plenty of time in both.

Are you a resolutions person or an intention person? Do you have a “word” for 2021? I’m here to tell you that if you are or do, that is awesome and if you’re not, that is awesome too! Whichever camp you fall into keep doing whatever it is that makes your heart happy!
