California Dreaming

It’s been a week since we got home from California and you could tell me it has been a month and I might believe you. I had a quick turn around for two work trips this past week and poof the week was gone. Then I blinked again and it was Monday. How does that happen?

So as I head into another busy week I wanted to share a few of my favorite moments from our time in California. I already shared one highlight here, but here are a few more.

Coffee at The Java Man in Hermosa Beach was my favorite coffee of the trip. I love finding local spots when we travel and I’m so glad we stumbled across this one. It is Hermosa’s oldest coffee house. After we found coffee we spent the rest of our first morning in CA walking the Strand. It was a beautiful day and very fun to check out the incredible homes that are quite literally on the beach. Being from South Florida I always feel extra invigorated whenever I am close to the water.

Lunch at True Food Kitchen was on my bucket list. I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time and we finally had the chance. This roasted cauliflower dish was out of this world amazing. Who wants to head down to Chicago with me this Summer to eat at the location there?

We stayed most of the week at The Resort at Pelican Hill and as you can see, it was a beautiful property. The greenery was incredible everywhere we went, but especially at the resort. They had gorgeous flowers and plants around every corner, even in our room. I was loving it!

This was a reward trip for achieving a sales goal at my “day job” and I feel so grateful for the opportunity to visit such a beautiful resort and be treated to some special events. I tried to soak in every minute. It was not as warm or as sunny as I had Southern California pegged for but it was a great time none the less. Endless champagne didn’t hurt.

We capped off our trip with a visit to Disneyland. I grew up visiting Disney World and was excited to see the OG. I was amazed at how similar it was, and at how much smaller it was. We helped save a ducklings life and rode Space Mountain. A good time was had by all.

I’m not sure we could have squeezed one more thing into our time away. It was hard to pick just a few highlights.

I’m not sure where we are headed next, but I’ll be sure to take you along!
