Friday Faves

Friends, we made it! I’m not even going to sugar coat it, this has been a long week. When it’s in the 70’s on Monday and drops to the 30’s mid-week, plus it gets dark at noon, I mean, are we ready to hibernate or what? Not kidding about the temps, kind of kidding about the darkness, not kidding about hibernation. Winter is here. So, we need some cheering up and I’ve got just the thing for you.

Today I’m sharing a few of my favorite things. Not necessarily favorite of all time, but here is what I’m loving this week.

I love using affirmation cards and spiritual cards to deepen my mindfulness practice and help me connect to myself and the world around me on a deeper level. I’ve been using Gabrielle Bernstein’s, The Universe Has Your Back deck for a while and I was so excited to pick up a newer deck of hers, Super Attractor. The cards are beautifully illustrated and the affirmations are inspiring. These decks are both great starter decks if you’re just getting into pulling cards and don’t know where to start or want to start, but I also think they are beautiful for anyone who just wants a little spirit junkie with them at all times!

Last weekend we had a family paint night and it was a blast. I have done several of these and they are always a lot of fun, so it was cool to include the whole gang. Plus, when your teenagers are having fun with it too, that makes it extra cool. I subscribed to PaintingParties.com for just $4.99 a month and with that you can view over 100 of their instructional videos. I had enough supplies for myself on hand, but had to order a few extra things so we could all participate. I ordered 16 x 20 canvas, some extra paint and brushes and easels for everyone. Everything was really reasonable and this makes a great family activity or girls night activity or good ole’ quarantine fun!

Here’s what I’m watching this week…

Undoing with Nicole Kidman on HBO, ps. can we please talk about how she doesn’t get nearly the credit she deserves as an actor?!

Also, watching Glee with my stepdaughter on the nights she’s at our house. She’s already seen it (cringe) and I started the series over since I’d never seen it. I can’t believe how mature the content is, especially considering it premiered in 2009, or am I just a prude?

Here’s what I’m listening to this week…

Are you a podcaster? I’m listening to and LOVING Chameleon: Hollywood Con Queen on Apple Podcast, this story explores a crazy scam artist in Hollywood. True Crime and Show Biz collide, the perfect listen for me.

Cheers to surviving the week, making it through all of your bad days and wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead!
